is awesome.

Due to the recent rival of the topic of abortion in popular discussion, I feel I should pose an argument against the rationality of the law concerning abortion.

Alrights just to put this out there, yes I am Catholic but I am telling yall this on a strictly reason based argument. Though chances are people will dismiss this as the comment of an outdated religious view. If ya find in my argument where I incorporate religious views let me know so I can clear up the confusion. Enough rambling, time to make it short and sweet.

The Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004 states that a, “child in utero,” (that is an unborn child) is protected under state law. Thus if someone kills a pregnant woman (in most states this starts at fertilization), then they will be charged with a double homicide. Yet if a woman chooses to have the same person (the child) removed (killed) from herself she is not brought up on charges of homicide. Where is the logic here?

Also just to prove this is not just the argument of a man from Texas, “By a vote of 6-1, the California Supreme Court on April 5 upheld a murder conviction of a man who shot a pregnant woman to death, and then argued that he had not known she was pregnant.” The man, “Harold Taylor was convicted of two counts of murder in the 1999 shooting deaths of Patty Fensler and her 11-week to 13-week-old unborn child.”

Thus one of the most liberal states, and conservative states agree that an unborn child is protected under the law, and yet, abortion remains legal.

It just doesn’t follow reason.

P.S. Sorry I lied bout the short and sweet bit.
