I know you hate me but two things,
Okay oil may not be your idea of a progressive part of society but can you name what Utah or Wyoming or any other state has that is progressive, Texas is more progressive than most. Oil helps in some way, moving forward and making money to be able to do more….
I”m simply stating that you have assholes everywhere. To say Texas doesn’t is a extremely untrue statement. Oil definitely is not anywhere near progressive. Of course Utah and Wyoming aren’t doing anything major, but texas is one of the most populated states. its supposed to be leading in progressiveism. When the governor is talking about secession, your school system is being revamped (supporting the confederacy, deny thomas jefferson as a founding father, etc), and the Texas/houston economy is completely invested in an environmentally unfriendly/extremely expensive industry.
edit: also i’m not sure what you think is progressive, but something that harms the world on a global perspective is definitely not progressive.
Yeah Texas has assholes, but they are from out of state.
Progressiveism isn’t a word.
And come on, politicians say things, like “im goin to pull out of the middle east immediately.” And secession talks is kinda a joke, and though it may seem unlikely politicians do indeed have a sense of humor. (I thought saying those things was funny at least, i mean how many people honestly think we are seriously thinking of seceding)
Ahh and the Confederacy. Does anyone remember why the south seceded in the first place? States’ Rights. and last time i checked, the argument for states’ right has been around since the conception of our Nation, also known as the anti-federalist, members of which include George Mason, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, Richard Henry Lee, and even Thomas Jefferson. All of which are considered patriots and founding fathers, thus the idea can’t really be considered evil by the country they founded.
As for Thomas Jefferson, they are not denying his importance, but rather focusing on the philosophers and their philosophies that Jefferson was influenced by. As we were alluded to in Government class, (trust me, there is a lot of Locke)
Environmentally unfriendly? Ya know what i can classify under that? Cars (all that bad CO2), food (we are killin the animals man), … and my personal favorite People and civilization. See before the nice little places we live in were here, there were forest and such, thus by living in houses, we have destroyed the environment. Also roads, those also are environmentally not nice. Thus you by driving a car, living in a house and eating meat, you are environmentally unkind.
Oh and oil isn’t expensive when ya think about the net profit. unless ya mean environmentally costly, and if that is the case, i would like to direct you to the previous paragraph.
For closing, “something that harms the world on a global perspective is definitely not progressive” therefore humans are not progressive and should be eradicated form the earth.
